Template draft — requires review by qualified counsel before launch.

Overview

This policy explains how TideView (“we”) collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you use TideView. We collect the minimum needed to run a research product: an account, your subscription, your strategies and settings, and the operational data needed to keep the Service secure and working.

1. Data we collect

1.1 Data you provide

  • Account data: email address, display name, avatar (optional)
  • Billing data: subscription tier and order history. Card details are handled by our payment providers (e.g. Stripe); we never store full card numbers
  • Research content: strategies, scripts, notes, replay sessions and validation reports you create
  • AI request data: when you actively start an AI analysis or research task, the prompt you enter plus the symbols, chart and research context needed to fulfil that request

1.2 Data collected automatically

  • Device data: operating system, browser type, screen size
  • Usage and reliability data: feature usage events, error codes, latency and request identifiers. Observability data is pseudonymized; we do not log passwords, full API keys or AI prompt bodies
  • Network data: IP address, coarse region derived from it

2. How we use data

  • Provide, maintain and improve the Service
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Send service notices (renewal, security, material changes)
  • Analyze aggregated usage to improve the product (subject to your cookie choice)
  • Protect the Service against fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your private strategies to train models for other users without your consent.

3. Storage, security and retention

Data is stored with reputable cloud providers; the primary storage region will be confirmed at launch and stated here. Safeguards include:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Password hashing (bcrypt) — we cannot read your password
  • Role-based access control for internal systems
  • Periodic security review and audit logging
  • Backups with restricted access

We keep data only as long as needed: account data until deletion plus any legally required retention; billing records for statutory bookkeeping periods; AI request context only as long as needed to fulfil the request, debug failures and show you your own research history. When you delete your account, personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days except where law requires longer retention.

4. Sharing and processors

We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers acting on our instructions — hosting, payment processing, email delivery — bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements
  • AI model providers: when you actively start an AI request, the necessary prompt and context are sent to the model provider serving that request. Current providers are listed in the in-product AI settings; they may process data in other regions
  • Authorities, where a valid legal obligation requires it
  • Anyone else only with your explicit consent

AI features run only when you invoke them. Disabling AI does not affect your account, market data or non-AI features.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and local storage to:

  • Keep you signed in (strictly necessary)
  • Remember preferences such as layouts and theme
  • Measure product usage with our self-hosted analytics — only if you accept the analytics category in the cookie banner

You can change your choice anytime via the cookie settings link in the footer, and manage cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may break sign-in.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and similar laws), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (account deletion)
  • Withdraw consent or object to / restrict certain processing
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Complain to your local data protection authority

To exercise these rights, email support@tideview.ai. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

7. Children

The Service is financial research tooling for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn we hold a minor's data we delete it and close the account; guardians can contact us at the address below.

8. International transfers

We and our processors may process data in countries other than yours. Where a transfer is subject to GDPR-style rules, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our processors. Details of the operating entity and primary storage region will be confirmed before launch.

9. Changes to this policy

Updates are published on this page with a new effective date. For material changes we notify you in the Service or by email before they take effect.
